My First Live Post — FyTevΦ Community Test
Just got my garden section planted with fresh tomatoes and basil. Zone 8b living is beautiful this time of year. Anyone else growing nightshades right now?

Found Wild Rosemary Growing Along My Fence Line!
Was clearing out some weeds yesterday and discovered a huge wild rosemary bush that must have been there for years. The smell is incredible — going to start propagating it this weekend. Zone 8b in Orlando.

First Tomato Harvest of the Season ðŸ…
Just pulled 18 Brandywine tomatoes from my raised bed. These have been growing since March. The soil mix I used was 60% compost, 30% perlite, 10% worm castings — highly recommend for anyone in a hot climate.

First Harvest! Fireweed shoots from my Zone 10a garden
Just harvested my first batch of Fireweed (Chamerion angustifolium) shoots this morning! Zone 10a in Orlando — they came up fast this spring. Steamed them with butter, they taste a bit like asparagus. Highly recommend adding fireweed to your edible garden if you have the space.

Pro Tip: Coffee Grounds + Rosemary = No Aphids
After struggling with aphids on my herb garden for two seasons I tried mixing used coffee grounds into the topsoil around my rosemary and basil. Completely gone in two weeks. The grounds also improved drainage significantly.

Identified This Mystery Vine — Passionflower!
This thing has been growing up my back fence for 3 seasons and I never knew what it was. Scanned it with FyTevΦ and got 96% confidence — Passiflora incarnata. Turns out the fruit is edible and it attracts Gulf Fritillary butterflies.

Companion Planting Layout That Tripled My Yield
After two bad seasons I mapped out my beds using the 3 Sisters method — corn, beans, squash together. The corn provides a trellis, beans fix nitrogen, and squash shades out weeds. Combined yield this year vs last year is roughly 3x.

Has Anyone Grown Moringa in Zone 9a?
I picked up a moringa seedling at the farmers market and the vendor said it would survive our winters but I have my doubts. Anyone here grown it through a Zone 9a winter? Did it die back or stay evergreen?
Year two from a Meyer Lemon I started from a 5-gallon container. Moved it into the ground last spring. This season I got 47 lemons vs 11 last year. Container → in-ground makes a massive difference for citrus.

How I Keep My Herb Garden Alive Through Florida Summers
The secret: shade cloth from 11am–3pm, deep watering every 3 days instead of light daily watering, and a thick layer of pine bark mulch. This kept my basil, parsley, and lemongrass alive through a record heat summer.
